CINEVARA #5 The Act of Killing (2012)

With Joshua Oppenheimer
Curated by Alexandru Berceanu
The seventh edition of CINEVARA continues with a disturbing movie about memory, guilt and the construction of history. On Thursday, July 10, from 9pm, we meet in the garden of Residența9 for one of the most radical cinematic proposals of the last decade: THE ACT OF KILLING (dir. Joshua Oppenheimer, 2012, Indonesia/Norway/Denmark).

Tell us about Rezidența9.

Rezidenta BRD Scena9 is a space of expression, exploration and experimentation for contemporary cultural creators. Rezidenta BRD Scena9 is a Cultural Hotspot created by BRD - Groupe Société Générale, in a building declared historical monument at 32 Ion Luca Caragiale Street. The building dates back to 1890 and belonged to King Michael, being a gift from King Ferdinand to Queen Mary. Rezidenta is an accessible space where relevant thinkers and creators meet the public and use arts, culture and dialogue to better understand the world we live in. Currently, the artistic programming of Rezidenta BRD Scena9 is coordinated by the9 Foundation.

What do you have upcoming?

On Thursday, visitors will be able to see the UNArte photo/video graduates' exhibition, a lucid and fragile exhibition in the deepest sense - about identity, memory, image and artistic survival in an increasingly unstable world.
